Open for (delicious) business

Every week it seems like we’re reading about another beloved Toronto restaurant that has been forced to close its doors.

Not every culinary tale from the city is a sad one, though. In fact, many new restaurants, pop-ups, delivery options, ghost kitchens, take out joints, and businesses run from people’s homes are opening every month to bring us delicious eats.

Luckily for all of us food-focused sorts, October was a busy one. Maybe not so lucky for our waistlines, but still, it makes us happy.

Courtesy of blogTO, here are a few of the new restaurants that you need to try ASAP:

  • Matty's Patty's Burger Club: The name is a mouthful and so are the burgers. Straight from one of Toronto’s most loved food personalities comes a simple spot with a quick service window where you can grab a perfect cheeseburger ... and that’s about it. Because sometimes simple is pure perfection.

  • Noble House: Is it family night? Or maybe date night? And you have a hankering for some BBQ? Keep your eye on Noble House. Three nights a week, they’re offering a changing rotation of meals to feed a group. The first meal was a “Duck Party,” the second a “BBQ Beef Rib Party,” and the third a “Bo Ssäm Family Meal.” Whatever comes next, you know we’re ordering it.

  • COAST: If you fondly remember the lobster roll and lobster poutine at Rock Lobster, a favourite of Toronto shellfish lovers that closed in 2016, we have some good news for you. They’re back, thank gosh, they’re back. COAST, opened by Matt Dean Pettit of Rock Lobster fame, is serving up these classics (along with other enticing options) and delivering them to your door.
